AIPnD side event “Application of Non-destructive Testing for Cultural Heritage and Post-disaster Intervention”
VIENNA (Austria) – Sept. 27th, 2022
Non-destructive testing techniques are essential in studying the structural stability and safety of buildings, and the effects of disasters such as earthquakes floods, building collapses, fires and explosions, as well as in post-disaster interventions.
This event will showcase Italy’s competences and experience in this field and in preserving cultural heritage, in the light of the high vulnerability of its territory to disasters and the collapse of Morandi Bridge in 2018.
The contribution of the Italian Society for Non-Destructive Testing Monitoring Diagnostics (AIPnD) to IAEA activities and technical cooperation projects will be highlighted.
